Domaine des Ardoisières
Nestled in the pristine region of Savoie, in the heart of the French Alps, Domaine des Ardoisières is a gem of alpine winemaking. Founded in 1998 by Michel Grisard, a visionary in Savoie viticulture, the estate was established to restore the steep, abandoned slopes of an exceptional terroir. Today, under the leadership of Brice Omont, the domaine has become one of the most remarkable producers in Savoie, offering wines that are both unique and deeply rooted in their mountain origins.
Philosophy and Terroir
The estate cultivates approximately 13 hectares of vineyards across two main slopes: Cevins and Saint-Pierre-de-Soucy, at altitudes ranging between 300 and 500 meters. These parcels, located on soils rich in slate and schist, impart a distinctive minerality and tension to the wines. Practicing certified biodynamic viticulture, the domaine focuses on respecting the ecosystem and natural cycles to produce authentic, vibrant wines.
A Unique Alpine Style
The wines of Domaine des Ardoisières are celebrated for their purity, freshness, and aromatic complexity. Crafted from indigenous grape varieties such as Altesse, Mondeuse, and Jacquère, alongside renowned grapes like Roussanne and Pinot Noir, each cuvée showcases the precise alpine identity of the terroir.
