Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon embodies a modern and respectful vision of Burgundian viticulture, combining tradition and innovation to reveal the full richness of the Mâconnais.
Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon, located in the Mâconnais region of Burgundy, was established in 1999 by Dominique Lafon, renowned winemaker of Domaine des Comtes Lafon in Meursault. Recognizing the untapped potential of this area, he initially acquired 14 hectares of vineyards around Milly-Lamartine, aiming to produce high-quality white wines from Chardonnay. Today, the estate spans over 20 hectares, encompassing appellations such as Mâcon-Milly-Lamartine, Mâcon-Uchizy, Mâcon-Chardonnay, Viré-Clessé, Saint-Véran, and Pouilly-Fuissé.
From its inception, the estate embraced biodynamic viticulture, focusing on preserving the terroir and authentically expressing each parcel. Vinifications are conducted plot by plot, with fermentations in tanks and aging tailored to each terroir, utilizing neutral wood foudres or demi-muids. Since 2006, Caroline Gon has overseen the technical direction, continuing the estate's commitment to excellence and innovation.
