Description

The 1992 Château Chalon from Domaine Berthet Bondet is a rare and prestigious white wine produced in the Château-Chalon appellation, in the heart of the Jura region. This wine is made exclusively from the Savagnin grape variety, using the unique vinification method of “vin jaune” (yellow wine), a hallmark of this region.

The 1992 vintage reflects a year with optimal climatic conditions that allowed the Savagnin to express its full aromatic richness, enhanced by an extended aging process under a layer of yeast (known as “voile”) for at least six years, without topping up the barrels. This process results in a wine of remarkable complexity and intensity.

Blend

100% Savagnin, a grape variety emblematic of the Jura region, particularly suited to this style of winemaking.
